Stefan G. Bucher

Thursday 6, 2008 Stephan G. Bucher came to Cal State L.A. to talk about his life, his designs, his clients and his style. The style of his works makes him outstanding, unique and memorable. Beside, the way he deals with his clients inspired me to treat my clients in the future. Not only the way he designed his works that is interesting, but also the way he presented himself by using the slides, movies, and the sequence of the slide make the event looks like a talk show. I imagine that if he were a professor in the university how interesting of his slide would be.
“When an idea pops into his head he can’t stop until he somehow makes it real” This is the thing that sticks in my head and make me think of it every time how good I am as a graphic designer? Could I execute my ideals and my thoughts through the concept of my designs, through the elements of my works and through the composition of my layout?

He was talking about the Daily Monster that he has been drawing everyday. The reason why he keeps drawing the monster is he would like to be inspired by the ink everyday and improve his creative skill by drawing it.
I would like to say thank you to him and everyone who bring him to our campus. Hopefully, we will have a chance to listen to the great designer who comes to talk in our campus or in L.A. I wont miss that thing for sure.

I enjoyed his lecture. I found him to be very outgoing and quick and witty. Very inspirational and just motivated me to keep doing what I am doing. Always getting better by the day. He had some great advice"As greed goes up, Quality of work goes down" I definitely agree with this. I love doing graphic design. I like the money that comes along with it but you just got love what u do most importantly.
