The new Apple logo is designed by Rob Janoff. It has a simple shape of an Apple, bitten into. The bite symbolized knowledge(in the bible the apple is the fruit of the tree of knowledge) and the bite can also be pronounced "byte, a reference to computer technology.

I love the apple logo. It clean and simple. The bite in the apple that symbolizes knowledge adds to the logo design and enforces the the meaning.
